Aster Dumosus ‘Autumn Jewels’

These Autumn Jewel Asters are the perfect choice for brightening up your pots and containers. Flowering throughout summer and into autumn every year with gorgeous, semi-double, yellow-centred daisy blooms. Flowering later in the season, these Asters will burst into life during August and keep flowering all the way through to November. Forming a sturdy clump, these fully winter-hardy perennials perform brilliantly as a central feature in containers or in the middle of borders for reliable, no-fuss colour year on year.

Care Guide

• These fully-hardy perennials are perfect in both borders and pots.
• Select a site with full to partial sun, preferable where there is shelter from midday sun.
• Plant in moist but well-drained soil with added organic matter such as well-rotted compost or manure.
• The best time to plant out young asters is in mid- to late spring when the danger of frost has passed.
• Space asters 30cm (1ft) apart and give them plenty of water at the time of planting.
• Add mulch after planting to keep soil cool and moist and to prevent weeds.
• Cut back to the ground in early winter as plants begin to die back. Mulch after cutting back.
• To maintain vigour, divide every 3 years.
